Jacquards

Throughout my life I have used photography, as a compositional tool, to document the world around me. My investigative work with Jacquard weaving and embroidery has allowed me to use photographic imagery in a very direct and uncomplicated way. This work is related to my tapestries on a conceptual level but is technically and visually quite different. The cotton fabric was woven on an industrial loom to the Oriole Mill in NC. I then manipulated the image, primarily with embroidery.
